Pre-conference Workshops

On Sunday 2 February pre-conference workshops will be avaiable for those interested in receiving system dynamics training. The workshops will be run in two tracks:

Introductory Track: instructed by Bob Cavana (Victoria University of Wellington) and Mark Heffernan (Dynamic Operations)

This track will be an introduction to system dynamics and group model building, and will cover the following topics:  conceptual frameworks, problem statement, reference modes, causal loop diagrams, dynamic hypothesis, implications of feedback, stocks, flows, and rudimentary equation writing.

Intermediate Track: instructed by Bob Eberlein (ISEE Systems) and Shayne Gary (university of New South Wales).

This track will introduce more advanced system dynamics methods and will cover the following topics: modelling hard things, sensitivity testing, calibration and data, extensions.

These tracks will run in parallel and each track will run for the entire day. This means that you will be able to register for one track only. Spaces are limited to 20 people per track, so make sure to get in early when registrations open.

Pre-conference workshop participants will need to bring their own laptop computer.
